I was pleased to line up alongside a team of fellow MP’s during Labour Party Conference week to raise awareness and £15,000 funds for people with Cystic Fibrosis.

The UK Parliamentary Football Club – which included cabinet ministers Ed Balls MP, Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families and Andy Burnham MP, Secretary of State for Health - took on a team of journalists in an action-packed game which ended in a 5-1 win for the press lobby at Brighton and Hove Albion’s Withdean Stadium.
The match aimed to raise awareness and funds for people with Cystic Fibrosis, the UK’s most common life-threatening inherited disease. Brighton and Hove Albion FC kindly donated the use of their ground for the match.

I was delighted to represent the UK Parliamentary Football Club during Labour Party Conference and to help raise awareness and funds for people with Cystic Fibrosis.
As part of the UK Parliamentary Football Club we help to raise money for various charities. It was a very enjoyable day and I was thrilled with how much money was raised for a very worthwhile cause.
