Health and Safety Offences Act

Accidents at work can happen to anyone at any time. Some can be as innocuous as picking up a box and damaging your back. Others, however, can be more serious. In the news recently, 18 offshore workers were thankfully rescued after their helicopter landed in the North Sea. An investigation is currently taking place to determine what caused this accident. Whilst accidents can never be predicted, employers and employees have a duty to work together to minimise risks as much as possible.

Gaza and Israel conflict

We are all, I am sure, relieved that the violence in Gaza and Israel has finished, for now at least. It was awful to hear of years of rocket attacks against innocent Israeli civilians and heart-rending to see the images of innocent Palestinian civilians dying in Gaza. The immediate priority is humanitarian relief and reconstruction in Gaza. But the bigger goal is to seek to end the conflict forever.
